Realistic Strategies for FinOps Driven K8s Optimization

Kubernetes optimization

Reduce node counts to drive down infrastructure costs (on-prem and in the cloud)

An overview of common issues that drive excess cost and understanding the 3 core strategies for tackling them.  Done right, you can reduce node counts, which in turn impacts infrastructure cost and potentially reduces expensive software licenses such as OpenShift.

In this 30 min session we cover 3 core strategies:

  1. Node and Scale group configuration optimization
  2. Reducing CPU over provisioning – strategies for un-stranding costly CPU
  3. Reducing Memory over provisioning – complexities and dealing with imbalances

Who would this benefit?

  • FinOps Practitioners with responsibility for K8s
  • GKE, AKS, EKS Platform Owners
  • OpenShift Platform Owners
  • Cloud Platform Owners
  • SRE’s concerned about cost
